Fells Point is a historic neighborhood not only for the
amazing food and an active nightlife but also for it calming waterfront
neighborhood. Thinking about cause and effect in the Fells Point area I have to
think about the Patapsco River and the effect of people throwing that their
trash on the ground.
The causes of pollution in the Patapsco River are the
visitors that frequent the Fells Point nightlife and the patrons who vest the
popular neighborhood during brisk summer days. Another cause of pollution could
be from the boats that frequent the harbor during the summer months from tourist.
During the winter month’s trash can be blown into the water from nearby
trashcans and frozen.
The effect is the pollution of the river because of the
littering and how that affects the sea life in Baltimore. The pollution in the
Fells Point area makes it hard for us to swim or boat with getting an infection
or upset stomach. The effects of a cleaner Patapsco would be great because
people would be able to utilize the clean water for Jet skiing, boating,
swimming, marine life and all other kinds of fun water activities.
