In a World of Maps

I recently went to Las Vegas and maps were my best friend. They helped to discover new thing, find my way back to familiar surroundings and put landmarks in my head while exploring. Now I’ve never been to Las Vergas before and everything was a new experience for me but upon my arrival I received a map at the airport that looked something like this.

The map was confusing to say the lease because it didn’t give me any real landmarks as to where my hotel was and all I knew going on was that the Stratosphere was at the top of the map and looked like it was the farthest away.

After a far bus ride I was there and my and some friends wanted to do some exploring for which this map was no help. So we when to the concierge and received yet another map which was more helpful but still very confusing because it was so cluttered at first inspection but proved to be the more use map of them all. Take a look and let me know which map you guys would prefer.

I kind of wish we had a map that looked like this. Tells me where food, gambling and sleep are and that's a good map for me. The words stand out and the bubble add a bit of texture to everything.
